The Waiting Game
Yesterday marked the two week period that the City suggested that it might take to hear back from them in regards to the permits. We have submitted for a building permit, a land disturbance permit, and a sewer tie-in permit for each new structure – Lillie’s Pad and the pool house. While I didn’t expect to hear from them before two weeks, I am now ready for some indication of the next step. Both Dave and Bill have indicated that the City would probably ask for changes before approving the permits even though we were extremely careful to make sure we were within all of the setbacks and adhering to all of the requirements. The person I spoke with at the City indicated that some or all of the City’s decision makers for each department may want to visit the site and meet with the builder and landscape people to ask their questions directly to the parties involved. This makes a lot of sense and would be good for all of us, so we are hoping that is the case. Getting a chance to ask questions, their understanding the lay of the land, and meeting those with whom we will be working for the next several months would be a good thing. In the meantime, I’ll be working diligently on the drawings. When I get some drawings that are small enough to scan in, I’ll post them for you to review. Until then . . . keep designing!!
